Listening to Talk of the Nation now... there have been, oddly, a lot of callers from NC... Chapel Hill and Cary at least... everyone sounded pretty intelligent and normal...

but some dude from Hudson just called with the biggest most awful typical country/NC/South/uneducated accent ever. His call was, you know, fine. He didn't like Happy Feet. But, lord, he sounded so... well... like I said before.

I guess I don't actually know why that irritates me, but it does... "Oh, here's a caller from North Carolina." "heeyyy, ya'll. Ah just gawt ta say that there happy feet moovie weren't tha best."

Which isn't to say this guy's grammar was that awful... but it's hard to type in an accent.
